In The Booth - Hands-on programs that delve into the technical side of music.
Join us for an overview and hands-on demonstration of sampling techniques and mixing principles. Plus gain an understanding of the following: the role of the record producer; the evolution from vinyl records and old-school drum programming to modern beat-box devices; mixing techniques and principles; and the future of the music industry. Recommended for grades 4+.
Chelsea Young is a Jackson, Mississippi native and local Hip-Hop artist. She earned a B.S. degree in Entertainment Industry Studies from Delta State University in 2016. Young currently works for the Delta Arts Alliance as an Artist-in-Residence and recently piloted their first Strings Program that focuses on violin. She also teaches songwriting, bass guitar, and music production at various schools throughout the Mississippi Delta.
