Have Yourself A Delta Little Christmas

GRAMMY Museum® Mississippi will present its sixth annual Have Yourself A Delta Little Christmas! program on Monday, Dec. 2, at 7 p.m. in the Museum's Sanders Soundstage in Cleveland, Miss. Presenting sponsors for Have Yourself A Delta Little Christmas include Earth Data Incorporation, Mitchell Distributing, and Regions.

Tickets for Have Yourself A Delta Little Christmas! are now available for GRAMMY Museum Members at a special rate of $75 per ticket. This price is valid until tickets go on sale to the public on November 8th at GRAMMYMuseumMS.org. Starting November 8th, all tickets will be priced at $100.

The program will feature performances by Delta artists Eden Brent, the Buford Sisters, Tricia Walker, and Fish Michie. Pianist Jim Trotter, singer Jan Brock, and the Delta State Vocal Collective will contribute guest performances.

“We're so happy to welcome back these incredible artists for one of our favorite events,” said Emily Havens, Executive Director of GRAMMY Museum Mississippi. “With familiar faces and fresh talent from our amazing Delta musicians, it’s going to be a night full of great music, joy, and holiday spirit.”

Tickets for Have Yourself A Delta Little Christmas! are now available for GRAMMY Museum Members at a special rate of $75 per ticket. This price is valid until tickets go on sale to the public on November 8th at GRAMMYMuseumMS.org. Starting November 8th, all tickets will be priced at $100. Tickets will include access to a pre-event reception beginning at 6 p.m. Proceeds from Have Yourself A Delta Little Christmas! will support the educational mission of GRAMMY Museum Mississippi, which seeks to use music as a gateway to learning by inspiring and cultivating creativity, critical thinking, and self-expression.

ABOUT EDEN BRENT
Born in the heart of the Mississippi Delta in Greenville, Brent was surrounded by music and learned her first notes at age three. Nicknamed "Little Boogaloo" by her Mississippi mentor Boogaloo Ames, Eden Brent is much more than her signature boogie-woogie piano and juke-joint blues holler - with numerous nominations and awards including three Blues Music Awards.


ABOUT FISH MICHIE
Jim “Fish” Michie hails from Merigold, Mississippi, in the heart of the Delta. He joined his first band in 1966 and has continued playing ever since his first gig at Morrison’s Skating Rink in Cleveland, MS. After a career with the Tangents, affectionately known as the “House Band of Mississippi,” Michie moved to Nashville, TN, where he toured with Larry Stewart of the country supergroup Restless Heart. Michie currently plays the downtown Nashville area with blues and jazz groups, accompanies classes at the Nashville Jazz Workshop, and leads his jazz quartet, Fish and the Chips.

ABOUT THE BUFORD SISTERS
Hailing from Glendora, Miss., the Buford Sisters have been singing together since before they can remember. Their annual Christmas concert features three generations of Buford women—mother Gwin, four daughters and two granddaughters. The four musically talented sisters—Lee Threadgill, Pryor Lampton, Sarah Goodwyn, and Donna Bryant—will share the spotlight for GRAMMY Museum Mississippi’s Have Yourself A Delta Little Christmas show.

ABOUT TRICIA WALKER
A Mississippi singer/songwriter, Tricia Walker has become one of the clearest voices of her own time and place. Her songs have been recorded by Patty Loveless, Faith Hill, and Alison Krauss, whose performance of Walker’s “Looking in the Eyes of Love” earned a GRAMMY Award. Walker’s instrumental skills earned her a spot as a backing musician and vocalist for Connie Smith, Shania Twain, and Paul Overstreet. Along with Pam Tillis, Karen Staley, and Ashley Cleveland, Walker was a founding member of “Women in the Round,” one of the most celebrated foursomes at Nashville’s prestigious Bluebird Café. Walker returned to her native Mississippi in 2006 to become director of the Delta Music Institute, an entertainment industry studies program at Delta State University, where she retired from that position in 2019 as Director Emeritus. She was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award the same year by the Mississippi Writer’s Guild. 

ABOUT JIM TROTTER
Jim Trotter is a dynamic pianist, vocalist, choral conductor, and musical director based in Alabama. He graduated in 2015 with a Bachelor’s degree, complemented by an Independent Depth Study focused on Managing and Promoting the Entertainment Industry. With extensive expertise in both vocal and piano performance, Jim has made significant contributions to the music scene.
In 2010 and 2011, he was honored to be the first Alabamian selected to attend the GRAMMY Foundation’s GRAMMY Camp, where he collaborated with and learned from Grammy Award-winning musicians and industry professionals. Jim has accompanied various artists on stages nationwide, including a memorable performance of "The Prayer" duet with Katharine McPhee and David Foster during their 2023 tour stop in Key Largo, Florida.
His collaborations extend to notable figures such as Natalie Weiss, a sought-after voice among new musical theatre writers, and Southern Gospel recording artist Allison Speer, with whom he performed in concerts in Birmingham, Alabama.
Currently, Jim serves on the Board of Directors for the GRAMMY Museum and has spent the last decade with Live Nation, overseeing sponsorship and premium seat sales for the Southeastern Region. He is also the Vice President of Development and Marketing for the Walker Area Community Foundation and the Worship Leader at Jasper’s First Baptist Church. Jim resides in Birmingham, Alabama, where he continues to inspire and uplift through his musical endeavors.

ABOUT DELTA STATE VOCAL COLLECTIVE
The Delta State Vocal Collective is an ensemble of students from Delta State University under the direction of Mr. Tracy Hilaire. Mr. Hilaire is a native of New Orleans with a deep appreciation for traditional Spirituals, R&B, and Jazz. He holds a B.A. in Music with a concentration in Voice and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Belhaven University, as well as a Master of Music from William Carey University. He is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Music Ministry at William Carey University. 

ABOUT JAN PERRY BROCK
Born in Andalusia, Alabama, Jan grew up singing solos in her church and enjoyed performing in musicals. After high school, Jan attended Lurleen B. Wallace Community College on a voice scholarship there. She is most inspired by gospel music. Jan currently resides in Cleveland, Mississippi, and she is married to Charlie Brock.
