GRAMMY Museum® Mississippi has announced a special evening event to celebrate Black Music Month in June. The free community event, sponsored by Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, will take place on Thursday, June 19, at GRAMMY Museum Mississippi featuring special performances by blues/R&B/soul band The CUZ Band.
“We are honored to celebrate the signification contributions of Black musicians to American music and culture with our Black Music Month event,” said Emily Havens, Executive Director of GRAMMY Museum Mississippi. “We’d also like to thank our sponsors for their support in making this free community event happen, along with our special guest performers The CUZ Band!”

The free community event at GRAMMY Museum Mississippi is made possible by Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Biloxi. Additional support is provided by the Ella Fitzgerald Foundation, Entergy, Maddox Foundation, Mississippi Arts Commission, and, the Nissan Foundation.
Initiated by President Jimmy Carter in 1979, Black Music Month, or African-American Music Appreciation Month, is observed in June to celebrate and recognize the significant contributions of Black musicians to American music and culture. The event has evolved into a month-long celebration of the diverse and influential role of Black artists across various genres.
