Professional Development

GRAMMY Museum® Mississippi, in partnership with Mississippi Public Broadcasting, will host a free professional development event for teachers on Monday, Jan. 5, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Lunch will be provided. Sponsored by the Ella Fitzgerald Foundation, the event will explore how to bring the powerful stories from Everlasting: Life and Legacy of Medgar Evers documentary and podcast into classrooms with evidence-based, standard-aligned resources.

This free professional development workshop complements the Everlasting: Life and Legacy of Medgar Evers documentary and podcast, offering educators an opportunity to explore meaningful ways to incorporate these powerful stories into their classrooms. Participants will gain access to evidence-based, standards-aligned resources designed to support impactful and engaging instruction.

Teachers who participate will have the opportunity to earn 1 CEU during the workshop, gain access to ready-to-use civil rights lesson materials, and even earn additional CEUs by completing a two-week lesson plan following the session.

This free professional development program is open to all teachers grades K-12. For more information and to register, visit grammymuseumms.org.
